The Cliffony Community Form has an active Environment Group and one of this group’s active projects is highlighting and tackling roadside litter and illegal dumping in this area.
From one of parents: ”This evening she did her picker pal challenge with her brother, sister and mum. We did our local beach and local road. We wore the hi vest jackets and availed of the picker pal contents with the litter grabbers & bags provided.
We collected a lot of plastic bottles, plastic bags & cans. They realised the importance of keeping the beach and ocean clean.”
The Picker Pals initiative was organised by Cliffony Community Forum in conjunction with four local National schools and funded by Sligo Co Council Anti-Litter / Anti-Graffiti scheme.
